Chaa Da Cup - Please!

Chaa Da Cup - Please! is a food blog created for all food lovers

(n.b - mostly chai loving lovers).

The various mixtures of ingredients and recipes complement a hearty Chaa Da Cup! - you'll probably be looking (asking) for one ;)

This is my version of home cooked Punjabi-Kenyan heartiness.

No.48 – Plain Naan

6 different ingredients - 1hour to prepare - serves over 5 people

Ingredients:

2 tbsps - plain yogurt.

250ml - water.

1tsp (flat) - salt.

1tsp (flat) - sugar.

1tsp (flat) - jeera (cumin seeds).

1 bowl - all purpose plain flour.

Method:

In a large open bowl add 1 small/medium sized bowl of all purpose plain flour, add 1tsp (flat) of salt, sugar and jeera (cumin seeds) into the flour, alongside 2 tbsps of plain yogurt.

Using your hands or a spatula knead all the ingredients together to start combining them, slowly add water as you need to knead the flour into a a dough.

Once you have a soft collected-combination of the dough set it aside in the same bowl and place a tea towel over the bowl to allow the dough to slightly rise. After about 30min, the dough should have slightly risen, punch your fist softly into the dough and knead one last time.

Using your hands roll out small palm-sized balls, and using a rolling pin roll out the palm-sized balls into flat round Naans (flat breads). Place them on a hot tava/griddle and cook them on both sides until a soft change of colour is obtained and the naan rise on both sides on the tava/griddle.

Let us know below in the the comments how your Nana turn out!
