Chaa Da Cup - Please!

Chaa Da Cup - Please! is a food blog created for all food lovers

(n.b - mostly chai loving lovers).


The various mixtures of ingredients and recipes complement a hearty Chaa Da Cup! - you'll probably be looking (asking) for one ;)

This is my version of home cooked Punjabi-Kenyan heartiness.

No.4 - Fried Muhogo (Cassava)

4 different ingredients - 30min to prepare - serves 3 people


Ingredients:

1 large - muhogo (cassava) root (8-10 inches long).

1 - lemon.


1.5 teaspoons (flat) - salt.

0.5 teaspoons (flat) - red chilli powder.

Method:

Cut the muhogo (cassava) root into 3 large chunks, boil the chunks in hot water with 1 teaspoon (flat) of salt (salt at this stage is an optional/non-essential ingredient).

Once the muhogo (cassava) chunks are soft, drain them into a colander and cut the large chunks into smaller thick pieces. Fry the pieces in hot vegetable oil, once they turn golden brown take them out and let them soak off on a paper towel.

Sprinkle 0.5 teaspoon (flat) of salt and red chilli powder on the muhogo (cassava). Serve them with small wedges of lemon (add to taste) and a hot Chaa Da Cup - Please!
