Chaa Da Cup - Please!

Chaa Da Cup - Please! is a food blog created for all food lovers

(n.b - mostly chai loving lovers).

The various mixtures of ingredients and recipes complement a hearty Chaa Da Cup! - you'll probably be looking (asking) for one ;)

This is my version of home cooked Punjabi-Kenyan heartiness.

No.35 – Hummus


9 different ingredients - 10min to prepare - serves over 5 people

Ingredients:

1 medium - lemon (juice).


250gms - chickpeas.


3 large cloves - garlic (paste).


3 tbsps - tahini paste.


2 tbsps - olive oil.


1 tsp - jeera powder.


1 tsp - salt.


1 tsp - red chilli.


2 tsp - paprika.

Method:

In a grinder add 250gms of chickpeas, 3 large cloves of garlic paste, 3 tbsps of tahini paste, 1 tsp of jeera powder, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of paprika and the juice of 1 medium sized (or large - add to taste) lemon, grind all the ingredients together creating a thick runny paste of hummus.


Take the hummus out in a large bowl, create a puddle in the middle and add 1 or 2 tbsps of olive oil into the puddle, sprinkle on 1 tsp of red chilli flakes. Serve your hummus with some bhajia, pakore or falafels and a steaming hot Chaa da Cup - Please!
